Andaman Energy & Infrastructure

A highly skilled team with a global outlook, connecting opportunities and investors for collective success.

What we do

We are experts at matching finance with projects and we realise the potential where others don’t. Over many years our track records have enabled us to build our contacts, relationships and reputations. As a team we have closed in excess of €15 billion of investment and managed over €9.5 billion of assests. By coming together as Andaman Energy & Infrastructure we do what we do best: identify, analyse and transform opportunities into robust, commercial and bankable projects for clients.

We are a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, financiers and asset managers. Combining our individual strengths allows us to have a far greater perspective when assessing a project and lends us an all-encompassing view which gives us the edge. Our methods have been rigorously tried and tested globally, and draw on our collective experiences across energy and infrastructure.

Our inspiration

Our name? Owing to their strategic location in the Indian Ocean, the Andaman Islands have provided a trade gateway to world powers for centuries. The islanders of this verdant archipelago have honed their expertise in connecting cultures and commerce without which such opportunity and fortune would otherwise remain elusive.

A small cluster of islands making a big impact; that’s how we see ourselves – tenacious, quietly sophisticated, independent and full of purpose. Just as the Andaman Islands bring people together for collective success, so do we.

Our Team

Helen Wade

I get things built: things like wind farms and sophisticated power generation projects.

I have specialised in the energy sector since 2003 and, in that time, have completed over €3.5 billion of energy and infrastructure deals, including ground-breaking and award-winning transactions. I work in both renewable energy and conventional power, enabling me to transfer knowledge from one to the other. This dual vision gives me an unusually broad insight to this sector. I am known for being able to simplify the complex.

If I recognise potential in a project, I will nurture it through each phase with my tenacity and pure, hard graft to ensure the successful completion. Conversely, I am not afraid to reject a deal if it is not commercially viable, and will always manage expectations with honesty, integrity and transparency. In founding Andaman Energy & Infrastructure, I have sought out a talented selection of professionals who complement my skills and share my ethos and commitment. Between us we bring together what it takes to complete a robust and commercially viable project.

I’m a realist, but I firmly believe that the Andaman team can help to play a part in creating the large-scale shifts needed in our uncertain world.

For me the infrastructure industry is about making a positive impact to people by enabling them to have access to the daily essentials like water, electricity and healthcare. There are such needs all over the world – not just in the poorer countries – particularly now as government spending is often heavily constrained.

I believe that the way we work, whom we work with and how things get done is critical and can make as much of a difference as an energy project or transport asset can make by itself. My focus is on increasing the impact that infrastructure and essential services can make through meeting the needs identified by local people.

I have known key members of the Andaman team for a long time, and am involved in a supporting role because we share a passion for connecting great investors to greater projects.

Lixin Li

I have been working in the energy sector for over 35 years in various capacities. My early career was spent in engineering, but nowadays my focus is on the financial and commercial aspects of the industry (and I have completed green field / M&A transactions valued at over €2 billion).

The best part of my work? Finding innovative solutions to extremely challenging commercial demands. This frequently involves tricky negotiation and persuading my business opponents to accept my suggested solutions; or perhaps identifying additional income amidst the maze of a complicated regulatory regime.

I am renowned for my analytical brain and lateral thinking, and I’m proud that many a board director will insist upon my sign-off before committing themselves to significant commercial decisions.

The Andaman team and I hold the same beliefs, passion and aspirations. And, as such, I’m thrilled to be sharing my strengths for the benefit of all their stakeholders.

Advisory Board

Oliver PlummerAdvisory Board / Finance

As a testament to my staying power, I have run my accounting practice for 35 years and been a director of an AIM listed company for almost half that time.

I have lived and worked in both the USA and Italy (where my fluent Italian came in handy), and I’m fortunate to have clients scattered throughout Europe.

I’m now thrilled to be joining forces with an excellent team who, like me, are tenacious, diligent and passionate in their approach to business.

John BeresfordAdvisory Board / Legal

I have over 20 years legal and commercial experience gained whilst working in both law firms and in-house providing advice across a range of clients, across a variety of industries and covering all aspects of acquisitions, disposals, debt and equity fund raisings, IPOs, joint ventures, transaction management and general commercial work within the UK and internationally.

I am used to fitting into and working with internal teams as well as working with and managing external advisers. It is great to be involved with a motivated team of people reflecting such an eclectic mix of backgrounds and experience all working towards a common purpose.
